Mike Tucci started his Mastering career at the world renowned Masterdisk in New York City.
Born in Queens NY, he grew up playing guitar and bass, performing in bands at an early age – playing NYC venues like CBGB's in his high school rock band, ATTIC’S NOISE.
In 2010, with his brother, he formed the Brooklyn based art-rock band, Unstoppable Death Machines. His life as a musician, artist, and producer shaped his perspective and vision as an artist-centric Mastering engineer.
Tucci has earned Grammy Nominations, and international awards for his Mastering work, and has earned multiple gold and platinum records, Billboard #1 records, and #1 Billboard Albums.
Recently having mastered the Billboard #1 Album ‘Vultures’ and the #1 Billboard SINGLE “Carnival” by KANYE WEST & TY DOLLA $IGN.
MasterING albums alongside mix engineers and producers like Steve Albini, Mark "Spike" Stent, Serban Ghenea, Chris Lord-Alge, Rich Keller, BOB HORN, Ed Stasium, Niko Bolas, Jaycen Joshua, Patrizio "Teezio" Pigliapoco, Bainz, Anthony Daniel,Danny Garibay, Steve "Rockstar" Dickey, Tim O'Heir, James Royo, Robopop, Burke Reid, John Castle, Maddox ChiMm, Dakari Gwitira, David Kim, and others.
In 2016 Tucci was tapped by Vernon Reid of Living Colour to Master the Grammy Award winning rock band’s album Shade – Peaking at #12 on the Billboard Rock Charts.
In 2020 Tucci was tapped to Master the collaborative Chris Brown & Young Thug album, Slime & B for RCA Records.
The lead single "Go Crazy" debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts, and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the #1 most played R&B/Hip Hop radio song on the Billboard Airplay charts in 2020 and 2021, becoming Chris Brown's biggest Radio hit.
"Go Crazy" has had the lengthiest ascent to the top five (35 weeks) for a song by lead males in the Hot 100's 62-year history, and the third longest run overall, becoming Chris Brown's 16th top ten song and Young Thug's fourth top ten on the charts.
Tucci also has much international success: In 2020 he mastered two hits for Saban Music Group artists, claiming the #1 Tropical Airplay Billboard charting song and Song of The Year nomination for Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro awards for "El Carnaval de Celia" by Kyenes and the #13 Isreali charting single for the Static & Ben El "Milli" featuring Flipp Dinero.
His mastering work for K-Pop star- CL - helped secure multiple Top 5 World Billboard charting singles from her 2019 EP In The Name Of Love.
IN 2020, Tucci mastered the debut for Zimbawean pop artist, Hillzy. The album, Chisikana debuted at #1 on the Zimbabwe Pop mUsic charts on Apple Music.
Mike Tucci has also become the go-to Mastering engineer for many prominent Australian rock and indie artists. Mastering Cub Sport's self titled album, which debuted at #12, as well as their follow up album Like Nirvana, which peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts.
Tucci also mastered hit albums for Australian label IOhYou Records. In 2018 DZ Deathrays released Bloody Lovely, which peaked at #4 and was nominated for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album.
Tucci achieved critical acclaim and success with Sydney’S DMA's, mastering both MTV Unplugged and their sold out Brixton Academy live albums, and whose studio albums Hills End (2016) and For Now (2018) both reached the Top 10 ARIA STATUS. Oasis frontman, Liam Gallagher called the band's album For Now, "Biblical."
In 2021, TUCCI was tapped to master new songs for the kid laroi’s F*ck Love 3+ for Columbia Records. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard and was also the first #1 for The Kid Laroi, making him the youngest artist ever with a #1 album.
Summer 2021 Tucci mastered the debut EP SOmo Fume by K Pop artist– Jay B, which debuted at #1 on the K Pop charts worldwide.
Tucci has also mastered soundtracks for film and TV including: AppleTV plus original series Mr. Corman - starring Joseph Gordon Levitt, featuring songs by Logic and Levitt, and original music by composer Nathan Johnson.
Tucci was also tapped to master the soundtrack for the Nick Cannon produced and directed film - She Ball. The film co stars Chris Brown and features music by Lil Wayne, Birdman, Lil Kim, Coi Leray, Blueface, Jacquees, D Smoke, PNB Rock, Juvenile, Nick Cannon, Stevie Wonder, and others.
In 2021 Tucci received A Grammy Nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album for ‘Something to Say’ by Cory Henry.
In 2022 Tucci mastered “Celebrity Skin” for Doja Cat, The Hole cover featuring Travis Barker on Drums, premiered during Super Bowl LVI for Taco Bell’s fourth quarter commercial. The song was the biggest debut for a solo female rock song and was given the seal of approval by Courtney Love.
2022 has also seen more hit records for tucci. mastering 42 dugg & est gee collaboration album “Last One’s Left” for cmg/interscope, the album reached #5 on the Billboard charts.
In korea, Tucci had the #1 song of the summer, mastering “ganadara” by jay park & iu for more vision records. Produced by cha cha Malone, the song debuted at #1 on the k pop Billboard charts and stayed in the top 5 for over 6 weeks.
Nigerian artist adeukunle gold, had his nPr tiny desk concert mixed and mastered by tucci, and also had his hit single “5 star” mixed and mastered for Dolby Atmos by tucci.
2022 ALSO SAW TUCCI’S SECOND GRAMMY NOMINATION WITH CORY HENRY FOR HIS ALBUM “OPERATION FUNK” FOR BEST PROGRESSIVE R&B ALBUM.
2023 THE RZA OF THE WU-TANG CLAN HIRED TUCCI TO REMIX AND MASTER ‘ENTER THE WU TANG: 36 CHAMBERS’ FOR DOLBY ATMOS AND SONY’S 360 REALITY AUDIO Immersive FORMATS. ON NOV 7TH THE EMPIRE STATE BUIILDING WAS ILLUMINATED YELLOW TO COMMEMORATE THE Wu-Tang Clan AND the 30TH ANNIVERSARRY OF the SEMINAL ALBUM.
TUCCI MASTERED CHRIS BROWN’S ALBUM ‘11:11’ IN STEREO, DOLBY ATMOS AND 360 RELAITY AUDIO. THE ALBUM DEBUTED AT #1 ON THE R&B CHARTS, and would later earn a Grammy Nomination for Best R&B Album.
LATIN SUPERSTAR OZUNA HIRED TUCCI TO MASTER HIS ALBUMs ‘Afro’ and ‘COSMO’ IN STEREO, DOLBY ATMOS AND SONY 360 REALITY AUDIO. THE ALBUMS BOTH DEBUTED at #1 ON THE LATIN CHARTS.
Solidifying his Puerto Rican background, Tucci also mastered for Anuell AA, Wisin, Ñengo Flow, Jowell Y Randy, Arcangel, Luar La L, Chesca, Linares, Jory Boy, Claudy-O, establishing a working relationship with labels, La Base and Rimas. His work for Wisin & Anuel AA earned a triple platinum certified single with “Mi Exxx.”
TUCCI ALSO MIXED AND MASTERED THE ANTICIPATED ALBUM BY BRENT FAIYAZ “LARGER THAN LIFE”IN DOLBY ATMOS, THE ALBUM WOULD ALSO REACH #1 ON THE R&B CHARTS via ISO Supremacy. Also for the label, Tucci would Mix and Master inDokby Atmos the breakthrough single for TOMMY RICHMAN “Million Dollar Baby” as well as Mixing and Mastering his debut album ‘Coyote’ in Dolby Atmos.
In 2024 Tucci was tapped by Kanye West to Master one of his most anticipated albums: Vultures 1 feat Ty Dolla $Sign. The album hit #1 on The Billboard 200 Charts, and the lead single “Carnival” shot to #1 of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
“Carnival” feat. Rich The Kid and Playboi Carti would earn a Grammy Nomination for Best Rap Song. Other Grammy Nominations for 2024 include: Best R&B Album: Chris Brown 11:11 Deluxe, Best Rock Album: The BLACK CROWES: Happiness Bastards, Best Grassroots Gospel Album: Cory Henry Church.
